Was probably one of the easiest exams ever. I’m quite happy with how I went.
The orthogonal sort of caught me off guard… still I hope I did OK on that one!
i thought it was easy, however after finishing it and looking at some other vce forums was unsure about whether we were required to dimension the orthogonal drawing? it said to inclued all symbols (3rd angle symbol) and labels (front, side, and right)and any hidden lines and lines for the circles. i thought about dimensioning it, but read the question several times and was sure i wasnt required to. hmmm ?????? help anyone.
I wasn’t too sure about the dimensions either, however I did put them in just to be safe, as the instructions clearly stated to ‘label’ so I assumed that it meant TOP, FRONT, SIDE, and dimensions. It was worth 21 marks after all, so who knows.
i dunno, i really hope we didn’t have too haha
I’ve been looking at some vcd info on vcaa’s website, judging from the info in this link about labeling, i really dont think we we’re required to?
what do you think K? or anyone else??
I was also confused at the 3rd angle orthogonal – I didn’t know whether to do it horizontally or vertically and whether to put the dimensions in or not. Stupidly I attempted it twice, and put quite a bit of detail into my written answers meaning I didn’t have enough time to finish the design on the last page… oh well, my mark didn’t turn out as bad as I thought.
I personally didn’t put in dimensions for the orthogonal. It did confuse me a little, threw me off guard when i first saw it. But after completing past papers, this one was by far the easiest. I was surprised. I guess I could have done better, looking back at it now. But hey, we did well to complete VCD in 09.

Best of luck!
