VCE Chemistry websites

Below are a series of VCE chemistry websites that may assist your research and collate VCE chemistry notes. Always make sure you check off the content on the websites with a copy of the study design.

This page takes you to the VCAA chemistry site. It will have the assessment guide, links to past exams, exam criteria, assessor reports, articles and other useful items. This should be your first point of reference for all information relating to this subject.

KnockHardy UK website: United Kingdom website for A level GCSE however it contains, detailed summary/study notes, single page revision sheets, animations, multiple choice quizzes, powerpoints and more. All for free which makes it a fantastic resource.

Chemguide: A detailed website with topics ordered for easy research. Contains information on atomic structure and bonding, physical and inorganic chemistry, instrumental analysis (including mass spectrometry, I.R and chromatography etc) and more.

Chemistry tutor webpage : A fairly basic site which reviews early senior chemistry (Unit 1/2) topics.

Another UK website for A level Chemistry (equivalent to VCE) – animations, easy to follow notes and diagrams. Easily searched by topic and sub-topic.

BBC Higher Learning Bitesized Chemistry course: includes information on energy, carbon, calculations and more. Also includes some revision modules and tests.

Chemistry links related to the VCE chemistry  study design.

Chemistry study cards website – most topics are relevant to the VCE chemistry course.

VCE Chemistry demonstration lab – a cool site which demonstrates general, physical, inorganic and solid state chemistry. Useful for both VCE students and teachers.

The information in this site relates mainly to AOS 3 in regards to physical and chemical properties of transition metals. Just click on the element to get a summary of the properties and more.

This site has a comprehensive list of practice chemistry questions and answers for tests and exams. Topics include; atomic structure, atomic theory, bonding and molecular structures, compounds and equations, kinetics, matter and energy, organic chemistry, polymers and stoichiometry. Well worth the look.

A fantastic little chemistry US chemistry website where you can easily click through topics, find notes and summaries, diagrams and other relevant and useful study aids. Topics include; organic chemistry, states of matter, chemical reactions, acids and bases, oxidation and reduction and much, much more.

This site has a series of flash animations for chemistry which are useful when remembering the periodic table. More readily understood information is on the topics of Alkanes, Elements, atomic structure, ions, pH, bonding and more.
