  1. If you used 10 minutes to finish this exam, you don’t know a single things in the paper.

Where do you find the answers??

    Phewph :| )

    Whoops wrong face :)

Guys, the ANSWERS were in a previous post.

    ANSWERS HERE: http://www.atarnotes.com/forum/index.php?topic=134829.0

    I also put B for 11

  7. Actually, subtracting the 0.06 absorbance made a negligible difference, as it was in 100mL, and to to 3 sig figs, Therefore 36.0mg is correct and the subtraction of the ‘zero’ absorbance made little to no difference

So don’t worry if you didn’t take that into account!

Btw, does anyone know when we’ll get our results?

  8. ANSWER B. 200 X 10^9 X 0.5
THEN /1,000,000 to convert to kg (1 x10^5)

  9. CH3CH2OH(l) + CH3CH2COOH (aq) —-H2SO4—> CH3CH2COOCH2CH2CH3 (l) + H2O(l)

HEEELP i did exactly this but not in ‘ semi structual’ still get the marks ? :(

  10. Also, does anyone know if you can still get a 50 if you lost a mark on exam 1???

I checked the answers and I did some stupid balancing of the fatty acid equation, but everything else is correct – do you think I can still get a 50??? Or will it be super hard? :S

    George I said B as well :)

  12. Results released August 6???

  13. results come out 8th of august I’m pretty sure

  14. Chemlover on said:

Liam that is semi structural formula

They said pens down literally as I was writing the last sentence. Overall it was a pretty easy exam, I’d say I struggled most converting the mg of boron in water to kg!

  16. I wrote stearic acid is solid not liquid… is that wrong ;(

  17. Rebecca on said:

Apparently, nearly all the people on ATAR notes got close to full marks like 66-67/75. So….

    I expect cut-off for A+ to be really high, like 87-88%, just high 80s to a 90%.

  18. haah no i meant i did that in molecular formula

  19. Someone on said:

What was the exam out of again. Is it 78 or somfing.

  20. I did the same thing Liam :S
I had my equation fully balanced along with correct states, left the exam and looked over the paper afterwoulds…and sure enough there it was, stated in the question; “write in semi structural’ :P
    Ahwell, it’s out of two, so they might give me one mark at least ! :}

  21. Someone on said:

Oh yes, I thought I got mc 14 wrong but I think I got it right for the wrong reason.

  22. Hey guys, for the tablet question, I got 36.1 or something. Do you think they’ll accept that? And for the nylon question, I referred to the orientation of the monomers enabling its properties? Since it is man-made and all. And for the chromatography question, I said that the first one had three spots because the two amino acids could not be separated using the solvent. What do you think?

  23. Someone on said:

    Oh no I got 35mg somehow. :,(

  24. Someone on said:

Bree I reckon that sounds better than what I wrote.

  25. Peeps on said:

Hi guys, anyone got the question book? I couldnt remember my answer without looking at the questions.

  26. What was the entire exam out of? Was it 75 marks?

  27. @ :)

I’m 100% sure you can still get a 50 if you drop like even 4 marks so yeah

What will be the cut off for an A+?

  29. hey guys…..what do u think you need to get above 40 for this year

  30. Mariah on said:

you generally need a high ranking and either extremely high A or A+

  31. Stephen on said:

I think you needed an A+ in the mid-year, and B+ and above for all of your SAC’s

  32. Stephen on said:

@Lara, The cut-off this year is about 92%

  33. Zeekay on said:

    Got an E+ lol

  34. Nicholas on said:

I got an A. I am happy with that. :)

  35. I got an A. :)

  36. I got an a+. Its the only good thing I’ve achieved in my life

  37. Congratulations yayay that is so good. :)

  38. got an E

    fml

  39. I feel that so much time and effort was wasted on sacs, this semester I am so focusing on exams twice as hard as before, I feel I could have spent more time for exams. Time is so precious during these situations.
