Sketching Functions checklist for Math Methods

Have you:

  • labelled your axis;
  • placed arrows at the ends of your axis;
  • labelled all x-intercepts and y-intercepts with their coordinates;
  • labelled all turning points with their coordinates;
  • labelled any points of intersection;
  • labelled any other required key features on the graph;
  • applied the domain and range;
  • labelled endpoints with their coordinates;
  • used open and closed circles where required;
  • labelled asymptotes with their equations;
  • applied the amplitude and period if your graph is trigonometric;
  • considered scale so that the shape of your graph is correct;
  • shown any other points of discontinuity on your graph;
  • labelled the functions if more than one is being graphed?
