My VCE help wishlist

VCE students and thinking Recently I have been thinking about what you guys are thinking!

In order for me to make the VCEhelp website even better this year and in 2009 I want to know what you guys need…call it a wishlist for VCE resources.

It could be things like;

  • More subject specific articles
  • More podcasts and video
  • A specific subject or content area that you are having difficulty with
  • Etc

Simply add your thoughts and comments below. Let me know how to best help VCE students, parents and teachers in 2008 and beyond.

Cheers,

Heath

VCE Japanese SL stuff.. need more LOTE resources on here

  3. Catherine | Nov 2, 2008 | Reply

The website is very helpful, however I would love to see some more Methods resources on it. Videos of how to solve problems, graphs etc would be very very helpful.

More motivational resources definitely – I’m quite the procrastinator and have struggled to study these past few days.

Economics would be a good area to try and cover too.

Overall just more resources, broken up into units and areas of study preferably, if you ever get enough material to do this with.
What about a contribution scheme, where past students provide area specific notes after they have graduated? It’s like a user shares, if you use the website for your gain, you give some back.

An really good idea in theory would be practice question of the day, where the website would provide a question per subject, which would be submitted by the student and then independently marked. I’m not sure how it would work in terms of getting people to actually mark, but having those outsider’s perspectives on your work is an incredibly valuable thing.

    I hope that helps!

Hi Catherine – thanks for your highly detailed list and numerous ideas. The idea of “paying back” the VCEhelp website by providing specific notes and information is something that has been done a little previously. I sure would love to get some more help adding content to the website!

Would you be able to list down VCE subjects that are interesting and tell me why they are beneficial, what types of subjects will suit what our choices.

  8. Monique | Nov 29, 2008 | Reply

Overall this website is awsome, but I would love it even more if there were more motivational speeches or lectures which can be put onto the Mp3 and some inspirational or motivational quotes.

  9. Bek | Nov 30, 2008 | Reply

I find podcasts to be really helpful.
Also, resources for japanese SL and maths methods would be beneficial to many students.

Perhaps a regular ‘help forum’ where questions can be posted and answered (even by other students).

    Thanks for this great website!

Please can u add some resources for English Langauge and maybe some videos for chemistry that we could download. What would be also good is videos in general, to improve this great website.

Personally I find podcasts an excellent form of study as they are more interesting and convenient as you can listen to them anytime and anywhere. It would be very much apprecitaed if there were more podcatsts reltaing to legal, biology and health and human development.

    Hi Heath,
Wish you could have some sort of resource or even just some information about UMAT and advices for students who want to get into medicine.

    cheers,
    Jeecy

  37. Heath McGregor | Jan 28, 2010 | Reply

    Hi Jeecy,

I will add that to the list. The UMAT is something that many students have questions. Thanks for your contribution.

    Cheers, Heath

    Hi Heath,

This is a great website and I see it helping me a lot over the year.

It would be nice if you had more maths specific stuff though. I’m doing Methods and Specialist and there is almost nothing on either of them. Things like exam and study techniques for maths (as these differ from most other subjects) would be appreciated.

    Hey Heath,

Is it possible to get some more information/resources such as notes and trial exam papers for VCE Maths Methods (Units 1 & 2) and VCE Chemistry (Units 1 & 2)

    Cheers, Ligorian

Hi Heath, I am a mum of a year 12 VCE student, I was so relieved when i found this site, and I was looking for tips on how parents can help their kids through the stresses, and what we may not understand that our kids go through in year 11 & 12.Maybe the ” how parents can help “articles/blogs/tips could be from , not only psychologists or teen experts but also past VCE students and what they needed & their parents and what they found helped their kids ? thanks
