Cruzin VCE seminars in March

The Cruzin’ VCE seminars are back on again in 2009. This fantastic initiative will start again with seminars being run at the Box Hill Library on March 28th 2009 for study skill and subject specific help.
Cruzin’ VCE is a series of high quality, informative and highly affordable seminar programs (only $ 20 – total) that are run to help give you the practical skills and information to ace your VCE sacs and exams.
The special day of seminars has employed the highly skilled and experienced presenters from Access Education and VCE help who have excellent subject specific knowledge and how to help you achieve the highest possible VCE results.
March program outline:
- Session 1: (10am-11am) English 2009 – what you should be doing at the end of Term 1.
- Speaker: Bob Hillman, Head of Year 12, Senior English teacher at Trinity Grammar School and a current Assessor for VCE English (2008)
- Session 2A (11am-12noon): Exploring English Contexts – Encountering Conflict. (OR)
- Ross Huggard, Head of Senior School and VCE English teacher at Cranbourne Secondary College, author and a current Assessor for VCE English (2008)
- Session 2B (11am-12noon): Exploring English Contexts – Identity and Belonging.
- David White, English Education Consultant, author and a current VCE English Assessor (2008)
- Lunch: 12 noon to 12.30pm
- Session 3A:( 12.30 – 2pm) Maths Methods workshop. (OR)
- Let’s consolidate what you have covered so far in Methods: Kevin McMenamin, Head of Maths at The Peninsula School and a current Assessor for VCE Mathematics
- Session 3B:( 12.30 – 2pm) Roadmap to VCE Success.
- This session (run by Heath McGregor) will cover practical strategies for achieving your goals and useful strategies for avoiding procrastination, achieving a balance and managing your time in the VCE.
- Break: (2pm – 2.30pm)
- Session 4A:( 2.30 – 4pm) Learning How To Learn and SAC / Exam preparation
- Run by Heath McGregor – After discovering how you best learn you will learn strategies to improve memory and retention, note-making and sac preparation – leading to improved SAC and exam performance.
- Session 4B:( 2.30 – 4pm) Psychology – preparing yourself for the Unit 3 exam.
- Run by Kate Lefel, VCE and IB Psychology teacher at Wesley College and a current VCE Psychology Assessor (2008)

WHERE: Box Hill Library, 1040 Whitehorse Road Box Hill
COST: Only $ 20 (includes lunch and notes).

Daniel is doing year 11 would this seminar be of any help or is it for mainly for the year 12.

Hi Julie, It will mostly be of benefit for Yr 12 students (as far as the subject specific content is concerned). My sessions on goal achievement, time mastery etc are relevant to all year levels. Hope this helps, Heath
