This page takes you to the VCAA site. It will have the assessment guide, links to past exams, exam criteria, assessor reports, articles and other useful items. This should be your first point of reference for all information relating to this subject.

Gatorade Sports Science Institute

Some high quality information relating mainly to fatigue and recovery, role of food in movement (Unit 3). The context of the information may be more detailed than required.

How fit are you? Fitness tests (simply complete the tests then enter your results to find out how fit you are), Target zone – fitness instructions (search a body region and get exercises for that area) and nutritional information. An interesting site.

http://btc.montana.edu/olympics/nutrition

A useful site with movie footage, flash animations and content relating to energy systems, nutrition, muscle contractions, fibre types and fuels used at varying intensity (good) – plus more. Worth the visit…although some of the animations may slow download times.

One of the best websites I have ever come across for Physical Education and coaching. Topics include every possible sub-topic in Sports Science, Coaching, Fitness Training, Sports and events, sports articles and more. Search this site when researching for anything related to the broad topics above and you’ll find high quality, relevant information.

The Australian Sports Drug Agency is responsible for the testing of athletes for performance enhancing substances. This site contains information on why athletes use “doping”, fact sheets on performance enhancing substances and methods of detections – useful for Ergogenic Aids.

The Victorian Government recognises the importance of working to increase levels of physical activity and healthy eating, promote stronger communities and address the rising prevalence of obesity and diabetes. You'll find hundreds of ideas on this site as part of the Go for your life campaign.
